What is Kali Linux
Kali Linux is an open-source Debian based operating system which comes pre-loaded with a wide variety of penetration testing tools and security-oriented utilities. it is highly customizable and comes with a custom kernel, patched for injections. This tool is used by all type of hackers and this OS does not allow the virus to entre, it is completely safe to use If you haven't got a fair bit to experience working with Linux, then Kali Linux would be a good first OS for you
How to setup Kali Linux
Now same as that of windows Windows, download the Kali Linux virtual image. After you finish downloading, follow the steps below:
1. Launch VMware work station

2. Open Kali Linux image by going to File > Open

3. Click the ''Edit virtual machine settings'' button to configure the other settings:
- Memory: Allocate the necessary amount of RAM to your virtual machine. Any amount above 2 GB is preferred
- Processor: This provides you with the opinion of allocating the number of processors of the VM similarly, you can also fiddle with the number of crores
- Hard Disk: A solid-state drive is always preferred over an HDD. Try to allocate your VM a sufficient amount of space so that you don't have to deal with partitioning and to swap shortly.
- Network adapter: To change the configuration of network adapters or add a virtual one. Generally, these three options are available under this option: Bridge, NAT, Host-only.
4. To start the VM, click on the ''OK'' button followed by the ''Play'' button.
5. This will launch the virtual machine, and a boost screen will be displayed on the screen. Press Enter and when prompted for credentials enter ''root'' and ''toor'' as the username and password respectively. Now, we have complete access over the Kali Linux VM, and our VM can now be used for further hacking
